Minnesota House District 50-A Caucus Report
Wow. I have never seen, and did not expect a turnout like that. Nor did the folks running the show at the caucus, because we didn't have enough of anything; chairs, forms, ballots... a map showing people which precinct they belonged to.
I heard we were roughly triple what would have been considered "good" attendance for our house district. My own precinct was up 2500% from my last caucus... when I was the only one from my precinct who showed up.
After the initial mass disorganization settled down, things got going and over pretty quickly. As for the strawpoll, my precinct went 4 votes McCain, 6 votes Huckajesus, 15 votes Mitt Romney. None to anyone else (despite a strong Ron Paulian representation in the room according to the signage). Anyway... I did my part. I said I was going to support Romney in my caucus. I did so with a clean conscience.
And now... well on to the rest of things. But that's another post. Suffice it to say, my support may have carried my precinct, but it doesn't look like Romney's night by any serious measure.
